My best friend from 4th grade is moving up to Boston to be my roommate! As 10 year olds, we would snack on Kettle Hazelnut butter and dark chocolate. What can I say? We were precocious 4th graders. Hazelnut butter is absolutely delicious; it has a distinctive flavor that I think is reminiscent of both coffee and pine. That makes it sound gross, but it’s actually highly addictive. That makes it sound dangerous… which it might be. Anyway, these recipes are for Laura: I’m looking forward to many grown up Hazelnut Butter dates to come! -Amanda
1 pound roasted hazelnuts
1. In a food processor, process until totally smooth. You may need to scrape down the side a few times and you will definitely need to be patient. But you are 10 minutes away from silky, savory, nut butter bliss!
1/2 cup hazelnut butter
2 tablespoons cacao or cocoa powder
3 tablespoons coconut palm sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 tablespoons coconut oil
1. In a food processor, pulse until silky and smooth. Put on anything and enjoy!
